The scheduling grid

The grid is the heart of OutfitterHQ: your whole fleet down the side, the calendar across the top, and every booking as a block you can see and move. It keeps a promise true — these boats are on this trip for these days — and it replaces the whiteboard.

What you see

• One row per boat, grouped by type, showing its code and home lake.
• One column per day. Bookings span the days they cover; colors reflect status (pending review, confirmed, on the water, completed).
• Tap or click any booking to open it — edit dates, boats, customer details, or jump to the full booking page.

What you can do from the grid

• Create bookings — click or drag empty days on a boat row. Release to open New booking with those dates. The dashed block stays on those rows (and any other hulls you tick) until you Save or go back. This replaces whatever trip you had open in the side panel. (Dragging the date headers labels the calendar, e.g. Long weekend — it does not create a booking.)
• Move and reassign — drag a booking to different dates or a different boat. The app checks conflicts before letting a change land.
• Full screen — the expand icon hides the rest of the app so the board fills the window. Esc or the same icon (now a collapse) to leave.
• Optimize — one button asks the assignment engine to review upcoming bookings and suggest boat swaps that reduce your delivery driving. You see each suggestion with its reasoning, apply the ones you want, and can revert an applied run in one click. See Smart boat assignment.

Works offline

Docks have bad reception. The grid keeps a recent copy of your schedule on the device so you can still read the wall with no signal. Deep offline editing (replica sync) is paused — turning it on broke moving between pages. Use the desk computer on wifi for writes until we turn that back on.

Limits, honestly

• The grid shows one organization's fleet — if you run two separate companies, they're two separate accounts.
• Very large fleets scroll; there's no zoomed-out season view yet.
• Full screen covers OutfitterHQ’s nav, not the browser’s own full-screen mode. The amber preview-environment banner (and impersonation banner) stay visible.
