How to add extra booking questions

Optional. Settings → Advanced → Custom fields & booking form must be on.

Use this when you need a fact the stock form does not have — height, dogs, a VIP hold on one hull — and you want it on the booking or the boat, not buried in Notes.

Steps

  1. Settings → Advanced → turn on Custom fields & booking form.
  2. Settings → Booking form → Fields. Add a field, or Edit one you already have. Pick where the answer lives: once on the trip, once per person, on the boat type, or on one hull. Tick desk, online, or both. Required only on the surfaces where you show it. Edit can change the label, unit, and who sees it — not the kind of answer, so old bookings stay readable.
  3. Fill inventory facts where staff already go: boat type (Settings → What you offer → Boat types) or a hull (Fleet → edit). Max paddler height belongs on the type, not on eighty hulls.
  4. Optional: Booking form → Assignment. Use a preset (height, dogs, VIP, rotation) or write one sentence: when this is true, don’t recommend that boat — or prefer matching boats. “Prefer” rules also appear at the bottom of Booking rules → Prioritization. Drag one above “already at the lake” only if fit should beat location.
  5. Optional: Booking form → Layout. Reorder sections. Locked widgets (dates, lakes, party, recommendation, quote, waiver, deposit) can move but cannot be deleted.
  6. Walk a desk booking and, if you collect online, a private-window /book trip. Height on the details step is checked after they answer — the trip step stays as it is today.

Limits

  • We pick boats for the party. If one person is too tall for a hull, that hull is out for everyone — we do not put Maya in boat A and the kids in boat B.
  • Extra fields do not change the quote.
