How to take a booking with Ask
Settings → Advanced → OutfitterAI must be on.
Steps
- Click Ask (or Cmd/Ctrl+K).
- Type it like a note: “Smith Friday, two 16s, George, leave the boat.”
- Watch it answer, then the form fill. On the grid (desktop) that is the side panel, or the one already open. Blue rings are guesses — fix those. Ask stays open — change a date or add a note in the same thread.
- If it covers the form, hold the Ask header and drag it aside (desktop). Let go to drop. Double-click the header to put it back. Tap the corners if you need to read a long reply; tap them again for the compact coworker.
- Check the quote on the page. The Ask card is gone — the form is the work.
- Save on the form. Ask hears that (deposit step still runs) and can take the next step.
- New when the next guest walks up. That clears this tab. Closing the tab, or leaving Ask quiet for half an hour, does too.
From the grid with a trip selected: Move this stages a hull change. Apply in Ask when the quote looks right — not a button on the grid. Dismiss if you do not want it; the thread stays. A refresh on this tab keeps that card. Undo is there for half a minute. Show on grid lights that trip and the empty target cells. If you open the booking, the hulls already on it stay ticked; Ask suggested is the opt-in card for the staged move. A fresh optimizer pick can include those same boats — it does not replace what is booked until you tap Use recommendation.
When Ask is empty, tap What's on this week or Suggested moves. Those taps leave after you send. What's on this week reads the grid and shows a table. Suggested moves checks the board against the optimizer (not just a retell). It does not apply them.
On Settings, ask what is set or how to change a field. It opens that page and fills it. You still tap Save. Staff who are not admins get a read-only answer.
Look it up searches the handbook. It should quote the guide, not invent a rule. How this outfit decides (Settings, or ask why a recommendation looks like that) uses your live rules and points at the matching guide.
Ask has a cap for the shop. Close to it, a warning appears — tap Let us know if you need more. The setup wizard does not spend this cap (it has its own weekly analysis limit). Over it, Ask waits until tomorrow (or next week, if the shop is on a weekly cap). If a turn fails, it says to try again or book by hand — not how it is built.
