Online booking

Your customers can book directly at your own link — outfitterhq.ca/book/your-slug — from any phone or computer, no account needed. Put the link on your website, your Google listing, and your voicemail. Or paste the embed script from Settings → Business so the same checkout sits on a page you already have.

What the customer sees

A three-step flow, branded with your name and logo:

  1. Trip — dates, starting lake, party size, experience level. As those change, the app checks your real availability and shows an instant quote: rental, delivery if applicable, tax, the online booking fee when you pass it to customers, total, and the deposit.
  2. Details — name, email, phone, and your rental waiver, which they must accept to continue.
  3. Checkout — the booking is created and the customer secures it by saving a card (and paying the online booking fee, if you pass fees to customers; or paying the deposit immediately, if you've connected Stripe payouts). A confirmation email goes out automatically and repeats that fee line when they pay it. See Payments, deposits & billing.

Customers never pick specific boats — the app assigns the right boats behind the scenes, the same way it does for staff bookings, so your fleet stays optimally arranged.

Two modes — you choose

  • Auto-confirm — bookings land on your grid confirmed, instantly. Best when your rates and availability are accurate and you want zero friction.
  • Review first — bookings arrive as pending: boats are held, but nothing is scheduled until you approve. The customer is told you'll confirm shortly. If you decline, their card is refunded automatically and in full. Bookings in the nav shows how many are waiting.

Embed on your website

Settings → Business has a one-line script, the same idea as Stripe’s embed. You pick a colour (Night, Pine, Lake, Sand, Canvas) so the widget matches the page. The card form inside always uses Stripe’s night theme. The iframe grows with the quote so guests do not scroll a tiny box.

The standalone link is unchanged — use both if you want.

Availability is real

The public page checks the same live schedule your staff sees. If the app says two canoes are available on the long weekend, they are — online bookings can't double-book your fleet.

Limits, honestly

  • The booking page quotes boat rentals and public outfitting packages (when the packages feature is on for your org). Guided trips and multi-lake itineraries are still staff-entered.
  • One waiver text is built in (a standard liability acknowledgment naming your business). With the Custom waivers module on and a PDF uploaded, guests view and e-sign that file — see Liability waivers. No PDF yet does not take the book link down; the booking lands unsigned.
  • Confirmation mail is sent when the booking is created, which can be before they finish paying. The fee line may still say due now until you re-send.
  • The quote does not appear until dates and a starting lake are set.
  • Some websites block other sites’ iframes (their Content-Security-Policy). If the widget is a blank box, allow outfitterhq.ca in their frame policy or use the standalone link. Colour presets are the five named ones — not a free colour picker.
